So i'm in the process of changing out my studs, to extended.
As you can see, they are a bit short ![]() ![]() Ran into a bit of a problem, when i changed them i didn't anticipate for them to be so long and my open ended lug nuts only JUST tightened, and HAD to use a 5mm spacer to get them on. Getting the nuts off, was the problem. I couldn't get my key inside to get it, so had to resort to brute force... this is the worst one that took a lot of persuading to get out ![]() Good news though, got the fronts done, along with a 5mm spacer, and freshly painted brake calipers. ![]() Alot more scrapin' is happening ![]() -------------------- |

So you put the x9 back in the rear? Damn so much width. The wheels I bought are 17x7 +48... a lot of spacing is gonna be needed haha

Yeah I never put the 9" up front. They are more concave than the 8's and would have looked silly

I'll just buy 25mm front and 35mm rear spacers and see how that looks, 'cause I know +48 is too high of an offset on a x7 wheel for clearance in our cars.
Thanks for the info! -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

I originally had 17x7 +45 with no issues. A 35mm spacer is getting a bit big haha

I never asked, how does it ride on the BC Coilovers? I'm debating between Megan and BC but they seem to be the same. Only difference is the Megans are sometimes found a little cheaper.

They run pretty sweet on the bc's, I'd imagine the same with Megans if they have the same adjustments (dempening etc) mine is a real bumpy/stiff ride though because of my ride height/wide wheels. Haha

Thinks I'm going to go back to black wheels. Who thinks so?
The plastidip texture didn't come out the best, and they are constantly filthy, and I'd like clean wheels again 😃 So that's the plan, unless I decide to bite the bullet and get them powder coated white or a dark silver color. Anyway, got some time off these next weeks, what should I do to the car? Haha. -------------------- |

Eventually you should powdercoat them white, they look way too good on there.

I'm torn between them. I see old photos I've taken and think, god it looked sweet on the black... Than keep flicking and get tothe white wheel photos, and like that just as much >< they're just so dirty. HAha

I think the white stands out a lot more (obviously) and in your case it's a good thing.
The black sort of highlights the puny stock brakes. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

I was wondering why I hadn't received any email notifications of updates on your thread since posting this... Before realizing that I typed this all up on my iPad and didn't copy it across to 6GC... D'oh
![]() Hey Tim! Well, this has taken a long time to actually post here, but don't worry I have been keeping tabs on it for a while ![]() First of all it has to be said (And I'm sure that you are getting sick of hearing this by now) that your car is my favorite pre-face on this site! Now, the problem is that I now can't make up my mind about what looks best ![]() ![]() ![]() In saying all of this, I had thought that my favorite part of your build was when you had euro front splitters with the silver wheels, but I re-read the whole progress thread in preparation for this post and whilst I still really like that look, I like the SSIII on preface look a lot too. It is nice to see somebody actually making an awesome looking preface rather that just swapping it out. So now your awesomeness is just getting the better of me and I no longer know what I think ![]() Now the biggest hero out of this thread is your breathtakingly amazing photographic techniques (and a decent slab of photoshop too ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now this post isn't as big as I thought it would be... Probably mostly because I summed up the whole thing to its just amazing; simple ![]() Keep up the great work and I will definitely be keeping tabs on your progress from here on in ![]() -------------------- ![]() SOLD :( 1997 ST204 Celica ZR -----> See it here on 6GC! 2013 October Celica of the Month XD Now: '00 NB8B Mazda MX5 -----> See it here in off topic! |

Nice post! Haha. But cheers man!
I've enjoyed where I've started, came from and am at today. I'll probably end up painting or going another set if wheels one day:p But for now, I'm happy I can have a nice clean car again! Anyway, Behind the scenes shots, as in before/after post processing, or for some of the rolling shots etc? Half of my images are in Flickr, which tells you my EXIF data on the settings I've used. But for reference, here's my gear (starting gear that I haven't upgraded yet haha) Body: Canon 500D (Rebel T1i) Main lens: Canon 17-85mm EFS 1:4-5.6 IS USDM (Polarizer Filter, ND Filter) Second lens: Canon 50mm EF 1:1.8 Zoom lens: Tamron 70-300mm Tele-Macro 1:4-5.6 LD Di Metz 36 AF-5 Flash Manfrotto tripod Manfrotto suction mounts/magic arm and custom rig. Programs: Photoshop CS4 Photomatix HDR All that gear is pretty much bottom of the line started slr gear I got a few years ago, yet to upgrade. -------------------- |

Oh thanks for letting me know, I'll try fix them all up soon, I went on a mid delete spree of 6gc before haha.
Your gear sounds sweet, I've been starting to get into studio stuff like thy aswell, I just haven't had the money to throw at it, but am still very interested. If you ever upgrade your stuff, let me know ![]() Next time I do some rolling shots, I'll snap some shots for you, other than that I'm usually just point and clicking, than post production...haven't tried much lighting techniques yet. I'm still on holidays atm, but next week I'm doing a good wash/wax and might get some new photos of my back to black wheels. ![]() -------------------- |

Hehe, well to let you in on a little secret the only reason I have all of that gear is because I was so interested in getting my camera gear when I was younger and I was completely broke that I ended up starting a small business buying and selling second hand photographic equipment (Proceeds from this bought my Celica in the first place!) but now I really just keep going to get myself bargains... It is entirely possible that I have spent less than you have ![]() We might need to trade some secrets, me with lighting, you with post production ![]() And hope you're enjoying your holiday ![]() ![]() And you should see if you can go a polished silver look, like that photoshop you did of the rims before you bought them... that looked S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G! ![]() -------------------- ![]() SOLD :( 1997 ST204 Celica ZR -----> See it here on 6GC! 2013 October Celica of the Month XD Now: '00 NB8B Mazda MX5 -----> See it here in off topic! |
