seeing as I'm fairly new I figure here's as good a place to contribute...

(long story, sry)
I had my foot broken in at least 6 places while working as a lifeguard at a Six Flags water park in ATL one sumer.
The particular slide I was working required the guard to stand in front of the 4 person float and hold it while everyone got on... well seeing as it was over 100 degrees that day and I was in the middle of a 12 hour shift I was a little tired of bending down to hold it, so I just stood in front of the float and held it with my legs (if that makes sense)
Bad choice. dude gets his whole family on, and decided hes gonna just "jump" on. well when he jumped on he landed directly on my foot.
Broke 3 toes and 2 bones in my foot in 1-2 places each. Everyone heard the cracking, I just smiled, pulled my foot out from under him, and sent them down the slide.... then proceeded to work standing on one foot for the next 6 hours.
Being the genius I was at the time, I didn't think I could afford to take the time off from work so I didn't go to a doctor. Foot swelled up to about 2 times the normal size, of course black and purple, and I went to work the next week on it....
Eventually they made me go see the paramedics, who said it was definitely broken in multiple places, but because there was so much swelling and fluid build up they didn't know how bad it was... I went back to work and had to sit at the kiddie pool the rest of the summer. that sucked worse than the foot breaking in the first place. Rebroke it a few months later.. still have a huge knot on my foot where it didn't heal quite right

Almost drown that sumer too when I was told to walk down a family sized enclosed slide because a raft was stuck about 30 feet in.... that was fun... try walking down a water slide with enough water moving though it to move a 200 pound raft.. you cant do it. long story short, got the raft almost moving, knee got caught between the slide wall and the raft and twisted directions i didn't know knees could twist and ended up somehow half under the raft.... knee occasionally bothers me still and i refuse to work as a lifeguard for six flags again. Barely over minimum wage is not worth the injuries sustained by idiots.

Got a god awful concussion at a Green Day concert 2 years ago when (and we're not sure EXACTLY what happened) either a guy was dropped on me, or kicked me in the back of the head... only thing that saved me from getting hurt worse was that the guy in front of me was much taller and took most of the hit. Being stupidly stubborn at times, I refused to go to the hospital even tho I passed out multiple times, and spent the next 3 days feeling like I was stuck in the hangover from hell

There are MANY more, but I think that'll do

I dont think that 1 post is enough to cover my injury list. I have had so many that it is remarkable that I am still alive and kicking.

I like to divide my injury list into several categories.

1) The early years:

I was born a breach baby so doctors had one heck of a time pulling me out dislocating both hips so I spent my first year of life in a lower torso brace.
By age 6 I already broke my collar bone, has had my lower lip stitched up twice, has had 3 concussions and about 20 some stitches to my head.
At age 6-ish I climbed a huge tree trying to get my rope down and fell from 2nd floor height hitting a branch on my way down and landing on a steel pipe breaking my back. Needles to say I woke up in a hospital with a full upper torso cast and spent next year wearing it. After I healed my folks enrolled me in sambo which is like judo and I had a few dislocated joints to deal with. I also had a hairline fracture of my whatever its called bone on my leg below the knee... long story.

2) The teen years:

I got shot at returning from a party. At first it was salt shot back at us. When drunken guard ran out of those he started shooting live shots injuring my foot. In the next few years I had a few cracked ribs when training for the free style mountain ski team. I have also had a few dislocations, major head concussion, fell from 2 more trees being stupid. Ended up having many splinters, bruises and skin cuts as I tumbled down. I also had additional 30 some stitches to my head from various injuries. I also almost drowned. Also broke my nose. Had someone attack me with a knife so have a (now a feint) scar.

3) The early adult years

2 car accidents that left me with a pinched nerve in the neck. I also was involved in a fight in college that shattered my knee cap, broke 2 fists. I also broke my other knee skiing so had 2 surgeries for that and have a plate and some screws there. Last injury was to my hand mountain biking.

List goes on and on and on but I am very much alive and kicking.

Seriously, don't. It sucked-- I'd work at least a 12 hr shift at least 4 days straight with maybe a day off in between, got one 30 minute break and was required to stand (even when injured) for the entire shift in the sun, in ATL.. which gets decently hot. On top of that you had to buy your own uniform and got paid $6.50 an hour. GHEY. But I need money to pay tuition, so it's what I had to do
