I'm trying to replace my clutch with a better one, somewhere in the 300ft/lbs capacity. Does anybody know if a clutch for the 4a fly will bolt up to the 7a fly without problems? Cheers in advance.

i really dont know, the 1ZZ and 2ZZ clutches are interchangeable, just not the flywheels. and the 5S-FE and 3S-GTE could use the same flywheel with some minor touch ups. toyota has alot of similarities and then they throw in a difference to mess ya up. i think i just posted a bunch of un-helpful information

7A and 4A both use 212mm 6 bolt flywheels. The 1ZZ also uses the same flywheel.
The 2ZZ uses an 8 bolt. My experience in this is from owning a 4AGE20V and wanting a new flywheel when I replaced my clutch. Parts stores carried the 8-bolt, but no 6-bolt flywheels. |
