Shig, come.

Uh anything faster than a 5s 5sp will be faster than my Celica, and I'm sure some of you can even go round the bends faster than I'm willing to try for...for now. I don't push it to the limit ever, maybe 70% of what the car can do at most.

hey guys I discovered that my rear passenger caliper is locked up this morning. I was pulling in to my schools parking garage just after getting off the highway and smelled burned brake pad. Sure enough when I put my hand near the rear wheel I felt a ton of heat coming off the brake. The other side was cool to the point where I could rest my hand on the drum. So I may not be able to make it out to starved rock tomorrow. I'll wake up early and see if I can manage to push the piston into the caliper or free up a frozen slide or something. If I don't show up then I hope you all have a fantastic time, and be careful on that road!

Just grab a loaded caliper, trust me. I'll be the piston froze AND the slides are stuck. Parts stores open at 9, should be able to find one by 10, about an hour to put it on and bleed it. Plenty of time to be a little late to the meet!

If anyone needs, my number is . I should be down there earlier than noon. Hope to see you all tomorrow!

yea I ran through the same thought process as well... but theres two reasons why I dont want to go that route:
1. I've worked in auto parts for the past four years, and I've seen the some really really crappy part quality in that time. That's not to say that all aftermarket parts are junk, some are quite good in fact, but in the end its a hit or miss situation. The suppliers for zone/advance/pep are to blame, since they offer inconsistent quality. Therefore I'll stick with toyota oem, its worth the money imo. Especially since my original one lasted 90k

2. I'm a broke college student. So I cant afford either an oem or an aftermarket caliper at the moment. So I'll try to see if I can salvage the one I have.

anyway, the last two meets I went to were small but still fun. So this one is looking to be amazing in comparison, hope I can make it!

I'd like to thank everyone who came out today. This was by far the best turnout for a midwest meet ever!

I'm really looking forward to the Midwest Meet v.2 2011 smile.gif

LMAO BigBlock ^_^
I totally didn't think about it when I was talking, then I was like,"did I really just say that with Rob standing there? I should probably correct myself....."

Who sent the picture of my hut to Daniel? After seeing that, we laughed so hard it was unreal.

It was good seeing some familiar faces yesterday and meeting some new ones. The guys that couldn't make it, you missed out on a great time. The cake was epic. I got a picture of it but I'm having difficulty finding our camera cable.

Chris, I got halfway home and realized I forgot some puppy chow. Lame. I can't figure out who sent me that picture!

More pictures coming later.
