it's pretty obvious it's a problem that they are way too close when you shift to 1st or 2nd (for the NA celicas) so is there any specific solution that you can share with me?

It isn't a problem for me. The only problem I have is pulling the e-brake up when I am stopped but that is not a problem. Is it in the way when you shift?? How if it is all the way down?

I am going to have a problem with this also.. I have a momo ebrake and shift knob and I am really worried about them hitting in 1st and possible 2nd.. I have been tryin to pick up a new ebrake handle to experiment with shortening it down and then attaching my momo ebrake handle so it's alot shorter.. here a pick you should be able to see what I mean
since this photo I have lowered down the shift knob to the height it shoud be and its even worse now.. I really think that shortening the ebrake handle will be the only real option here... but good luck finding a spare one.. I have been looking for months with no luck.. think a trip it toyota is in order here -------------------- 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |

With the stock e-brake and the TRD knob that comes with the shifter I have had no problems. The e-brake in the picture looks way longer than stock.

i normally like to get a good hold of the knob (i know it sounds gay) for better shifting but with the TRD knob and stock ebrake, when i shift to 1st (not as much of a problem) and 2nd (biggest problem) i hit my thumb on the ebrake handle, i have been trying to figure out how to shorten the ebrake handle with an aftermarket part, but still no luck, i will take a picture of the problem when i find where my camera is at

Think I found your problem. That's too much of a grip on the shifter. Personally I just use the tips of my fingers to pull the shifter and the 'heel' of my palm to push it.
The idea is to shift quickly and get both hands back on the wheel. |
