yay! update!
it's crazy how different the headliner is between the sunroof vs no sunroof 6gcs. Never knew that. All mine have always been w/o sunroof so I wouldn't know. as for the shifter bushings, I would stick with the TRD ones. The speed source ones might be a tighter hold but the height might cause issues. The TRD bushings were taller to give room for the gear stick as the pivot point is moved up higher to shorten the throw therefore making the bottom part longer and it would hit the chassis without the extra height. That's just my thought on that. you should do a quick mockup in the car with the speed source bushings and see if the gear stick will come into contact with the chassis or not. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Vlogging might be better than writing an essay every time we need to a project update, lol.
I also went through the same story on my rear speakers. I'll definitely have to follow this build for now on (don't know why I didn't before). This post has been edited by navseal345: Oct 9, 2018 - 9:20 PM |

im using speed source bushings on a stock shift assembly. the trd v2 kit i bought from my previous dealership for a friend of mine. ah, gotcha! It'll be nice to see how the bushings help with the stock shifter then. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Does that rear floor bar really help? Been contemplating it since it's relatively cheap.

On a chassis with 177,000 miles id say do. Its definitely a weak point cause of spare tire. How much flex. Depends on thr tires you are using

engine ready to go in by veterans day. but how sure if i'll drop it in because i need to find a new rear mount cause my friend accidentally cut the rear inner sleeve from brd to fit his E56 backet (which is narrower). so i use an new oem mount or wait till new poly comes in. ughh decisions decisions.

I guess it depends on how bad you want the car back together. that rear mount is a pain in the ass to change, but all things considered, really nothing "wrong" with an OEM mount.
Are you planning on putting the engine in from the top or from the bottom on the subframe? -------------------- |

ya the cars not going to be seeing the track honestly. maybe an auto cross event sometime in the summer. and car won't be a daily driver. maybe it'll see 3,000 miles a year.

once i get the car on the road n registered. i'll make a proper video cold start up. revving and flyby. then i'll send it to kakimoto. They actually replied to me when i wrote to them directly asking how much shipping was. they were actually more expensive than going thru RHD Japan.
