I must go buy some new tires, im running 17 inch whells, so i need to know the bigger size of tires i cant put into it without problems... i found a nice 245/40r17... i need some traccion so i whant to buy wide tires with a good treadware... im running now with 215/40r17 treadware 420 :s i think its too hard! so the car dont lauch good... other thing that i need to know its if anyone have used drag radials or drag slicks on the celi! whats results so you have? opinions abouts type of slicks trademarks, what tire would recomend Thanks |

Is this just a 3sge or a 5sfe?... You know you could easier go with 215/40/17 with low treadwear (140ish) street semi slicks which is be more than enough grip... Some poeple dont understand having wider tyres doesnt mean better traction if the tyres you use arnt a sticky compound...

I'm planning on getting Continental ExtremeContact DW in 225/45/17 soon. They're one of the higher-rated summer tires around, but are pretty cheap for some reason. They'll be seeing DD duty, but I also want to start getting into autocross.

Ive always suggested RE-50's are RE-01 as that is all i use. They've never failed me as a DD choice in the rain or dry, and have a good compound for auto-cross gymkhana...And im sorry but i dont have any info about drag-radials on a celica..but i am sure there are some members on here that have used them before.

I almost bought a set of conti's last week...almost 50$ less a tire, and just as good, or better ratings on tirerack...but i pussed out and just bought the michelin pilot sport a/s plus again (225/45/17)....last set i bought was 7/06..lmao hard to argue with that, and even worn out, they STILL have decent traction in the snow. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
