Hi guys,
Running a 95 import 2litre gen6 ST202 SSII I have a major overfuelling issue, using way too much petrol, the Co's are way too high and the exhaust pipe is black. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Ive read on forums about resetting ECU but how do you do it? They suggest taking out certain fuses but which ones? Got MOT soon and need to get it sorted. Wil even try new/2nd hand lambda probe/throttle body/air flow and Co meter if itll help. Hoping someone might have a quick fix as money is tight. Thanks in advance Sam |

it says in the information part of the sight how to reset the ecu.. and are you sure its running rich or are you just guessing. my ehaust gets black over time. and if its running rich it should be a wet blackness to the tail pipe. and your plugs will most likely be fouled. and another way to hint that your running rich is go out on the road and do some pulls from low rpm to higher rpm. if alot of blackish smoke comes out that might also be a sign of a rich engine.
Here's how to reset your ECU. First, start your car and let it warm up. When it's reached it normal operating temperature, turn the car off. Then, pop the hood and remove the relay fuse box cover and remove the following fuses: the Hazard fuse, the EFI fuse, and the ECU fuse. Take them out and leave them sit out for 1 minute. Then when the minute is up, put the fuses back in and start up your car. At this time the ECU is being reset so you can take advantage of your mods and get better gas mileage. When you start it up, let it run for exactly 10 minutes, then turn your car off. then start it again and you wil notice your car idle better and from that point on you will now have better gas mileage and your mods will be put to use. -------------------- It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

How do I know? Because its doing roughly 20mpg normal driving and the Co is at 6% for the MOT and the limit is 3%.
You say remove those certain fuses......WHICH ones are they in the fuse box???? (diagram or numbers required as I have no Idea!) Thanks for the reply. |

Not sure about there, but over here fuses that he is talking about are listed under the fuse box cover in the engine bay.

if you co is that high i would say your cat (not sure if you guys have that over there) is going bad, possibly needs an o2 sensor, or a tune up. but the fuses are in the engine bay and one of them was hard for my to get out but i cant remember what one it was.

You can also just unhook the negative terminal from the battery for 15 min and then let it idle for 10 min, thats what i always do
