96 GT with 154,000 miles - looking to rebuild the motor (recent oil leak and some blue smoke). Any reccomendations of a good shop in Philly area?
Thanks,

I second that, Find a low mileage motor from a salvage yard (preferably from a car that was hit in the rear) and swap it yourself, or rebuild it yourself if you have a place to work and something else to drive, not sure about Philly, but its getting Damn hard to get good work done around here, even at the dealer.

i agree... i got a 7afe with 42,000 miles for $550 when my first engine blew and it runs perfect. When you are calling around, ask for VIN numbers of the car it came from and check them on car fax to verify the mileage. Somebody that told me his engine had 35k miles actually had 135k...

It wouldn't necessarily have to be a Celica, same generation 5s-fe from any car should work, only diff would be you MAY need to swap sensors, brackets, flywheel etc from your old engine.

yea my 7afe motors have been cheap to get... 7afe with under 5k miles (factoy oil filter and spark plugs from 93 in it.. ) 200. and 7afe with 80k $250.. boost is addictive and i dont have an oil pressure gauge so i dont notice i was low til its toooooooooooooooo late... frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif
