Are the letters supposed to light up at night on the auto trans shift indicator? Mine don't and I have to be careful to make sure it's in drive at night. If it is supposed to light up where is the bulb and how do you replace it?

sorry if that seemed like an a$$ move, you just have to put it into gear (with the car off, ebrake up) pull the lower dash off, and just find the wires that lead to the bulb, i threw an LED on mine so it will last longer

Mine died a while back, but after awhile you'll get used to it, and it wont be a question of what gear you are in. But there is s bulb under the shift bezel. You have to remove the lower bezel, then take off the shifter bezel (4 screws on the sides), Since you still have the stick on its going to be a pain, but you should be able to move the bezel up enough to get to the bulb.

I drive by feel.

I actually dont recall looking down at the shift lever.

I just push the button down once to pass reverse and the shift lever will automatically slide into drive without holding down the button.

This was a ver easy fix that only took about a half hour to complete. Bought the bulb at the Toyota dealer. 90981-11014. Turns out there's even a bulb in the coin box. 90981-11018

AFAIK, the coin light is supposed to be on constantly when the headlights are on.
