Im trying to replace my thermostat but is it located in the Upper hose? or the Lower hose?

mmmm, ok!

Just to add: make sure you clean the area well of old gasket material and put the new thermostat in the proper direction (there should be a little tab that doesn't allow reverse install but I've seen it happen).
