Started working on this yesterday, this is how far i have gotten. can anyone confirm if i can just fleece the back to this plastic and continue building up the glass? will the bond with the plastic be good? This is my first real attempt at fiberglassing, the back is only two layers thick right now, im not sure how many i will need, but im pretty sure this isnt going to cut it.
Here are some pics, thanks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is for some 6.5 subs i picked up on sale awhile back, thought it would be fun to see how they sound back there. maybe i can get some midbass out of them, not sure how high they will go yet Link for information on subs if anyone is interested, but i think they are discontinued now. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.p...;products_id=33 |

Brother, the elemental 6.5 inch is NO midbass driver. They make great subs with pristinely accurate bass in the right enclosure...which you have. You may even have enough volume to put a 2"-3" port in them and tune to around 30hz for good SQ or around 40 hz for a bit more SPL. You don't need fleece to build up layers, only to close up the front. Your layers look like they might be a bit thin, in which case 4 is a good number to go with, and dont be afraid to double up the mat on a layer.
