I'm going to look at an ST202 Beams clip tomorrow morning. They're going to run the engine for me, but I'm wondering it there's anything else I should be looking out for?

I know generally what to look for, but any tips (specifically Beams related) would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Shane.

something about the vvt-i solenoid being in tact. But that is usually only damaged with engines that are shipped from japan to the usa. Check if the stamp on the firewall says BLMZF-O6D. That means it came from an SS-III Celica fitted with Superstrut Suspension and Helical LSD!

Thanks for the tips. I found another thread with the different codes, so I've written everything down and I'm really hoping to see that 06D code!!!

the vvti does not break when the engines are shippped from japan to usa, they break when engines are taken out of the bay, because the sensor is in very close proximity to the jdm master brake cylinder. It needs to be removed prior to removing the engine out.

Also you need the stock intake box and the AFM flow meter..

you will need the original complete beams axles, they are better.

you will also need to make sure you get the midpipe.

I bought the clip today, it arrives on Monday! Unfortunately it's a non-LSD model, but the price was right and I can live without LSD.

The stock air intake is all in place, as are the axles and the full front brake setup.

Pics are in my project thread, see link below.
