Just working on ordering the remaining stuff I need. I'm buying an Exedy stage 2 clutch and possibly a flywheel. I have a question for some of you, and I know this is kind of vague..but do you think daily driving is still going to be manageable with a Fidanza flywheel or should I probably just resurface my stock flywheel? I've driven light flywheels, but never on a FWD car or car with this much power, so I am kind of stuck and don't know what to do. Another question, where are you swappers getting your hoses? Anywhere in particular? Something I gotta start keeping an eye out for. Thanks in advanced guys! for my swap, im just reusing the stock 3sgte flywheel and resurfacing it. i was going to get a ultra light weight flywheel but i was told by some of the motor heads its really not worth it for the money, unless your going to go big downt he road i guess. so im using the stock flywheel, thats just me. and im reusing the 5sfe hoses as long as they are good, most of them will be reuseable, some you just have to buy some hose and make it work lol. Yeah, I should have specified. I was more talking Samco or other silicon hoses, there are a couple that I need. I can reuse a few. I changed my clutch decision, so that may change my ultimate flywheel decision as well. We'll see by the end of the day, haha. ya i tried looking up a new 3sgte hose kit, like brand new factory hoses but i couldnt find them.. unless someone else knows where i can get them? -------------------- st205 powered ss3 coupe

You can get the rad hoses off eBay.
Berk technology sells a high quality silicone hose kit for the mr2 that uses the same size hoses (umm yes....because it's the same engine) for all of the smaller ones. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Yeah, I knew about the radiator hoses, but that is exactly what I was looking for as far as the other ones go. Funny because I looked at Berk's site and after I didn't see anything under the MR2 stuff, I didn't bother checking the vacuum line section *facepalm*. Thank you, going to order that set tonight. -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

Ordered some more stuff..
Now it's time for my ultimate clutch / flywheel decision. After weighing my options for literally months, and changing my mind over 5-10 times, I think I know what I want. My number one goal is to pick a setup that will be fun, but easily daily able. My goal is to daily the 3s celi. So with that said, I originally wanted to go with an ACT 6 puck, Fidanza flywheel, then Exedy stage 1 Fidanza flywheel. But the first option was too "non street" for me, and the second was stretching the limits of the max torque capacity of the clutch with my 3s, which I don't want for obvious reasons. Then I got to thinking, I don't even want an 8lb. flywheel. I than found a 12 pound steel flywheel, which I would way rather have (I have read stories where aluminum flywheels can do bad things under high heat, mainly after track use) from Competition Clutch. They also offer a Stage 2 clutch, both items go hand in hand and are recomeded for higher hp street applications. So I think I am going to try out the Competition Clutch Stage 2 clutch and Competition Clutch Light (Not ultra light) Steel Flywheel. What you guys think? -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

For my swap the clutch is the same as Mr2 because I am using an e153. -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

I am running a comp clutch I got thru tweak.
I won't run another. Pedal feel is horrible(ie: very heavy), totally sucks for daily driving, and is very on/off, even after almost 2 years. It also feels like it's starting to slip a little when I go 3rd gear pulls on the highway @ high boost (19-20psi) which is ~ 320whp or so. The only good point of that clutch was it was cheap. like almost 100$ cheaper than what I was going to get at the time. the next clutch I buy will be a clutchmasters. I'll definitely spend the extra money. My cousin has a stage 4 unsprung that has better engagement and lighter pedal feel than both the comp I'm running, and the act hd pp. I've driven several different setups over the years,(act, spec, centerforce, competition) the centerforce was is by far the best one Ive felt so far, especially since it's got great pedal feel, and can still hold 400ft lbs all day. And yea if your running the E153, any mr2t or alltrac clutch will bolt on. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Looks like that clutch is out of the picture for me now. I still like the flywheel, but now I'm back to looking for a good street clutch. -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

More boring stuff came in this week that I will be putting on.
I repainted my valve cover a glossier red. Last but not least I officially ordered my clutch and flywheel. Went with Clutch Masters FX300 (Stage 3) clutch and Competition Clutch lightweight steel 12 pound flywheel. Now I'm just waiting for those things to come in and I should be just about ready to go. -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

Was really hoping to be driving this by now. Unfortunately I haven't touched it in weeks as I am still waiting for my axles, ecu, and intake from the person I bought it from... Supposedly they are coming, but such has been the story for a year now, so we will see. No use doing anything until I have everything ready.
It's really bumming me out and I'm really starting to lose interest in this project. I want a 3s celi bad, but this wait it BS. My motor can't be stored where it is forever as I don't own the warehouse, so if the stuff doesn't come soon I don't know what I am going to do -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

Stiiiiiiiiiiiill waiting for my axles and intake... Motors just chillin in my storage unit, looking pretty. Switched a couple things up. Bought a FMIC with welded piping fit up for a 3s, so I'm pretty excited about that. Also repainiting a couple pieces.
I really hope to have some more updates soon. Jim says axles should be in too him within a week, then on too me...but we'll see. Getting pretty bored of the 5s, haha, I never pay attention to this car anymore. Anyways, if anyone needs a E154f, W2A intercooler, Apexi AFC NEO, or turbo xs rfl bov, let me know.
