my drivers side rear window switch decided it didnt like the up position, it goes down fine so its not the motor but when you hit the button to go up it does nothing. now my rear window is stuck down frown.gif does anyone know what the pinout on the switch is so i could jump the position manually to get my window up till i can find a new switch

The switch just switches the polarity of the two motor contacts, if your window goes down it should go back up.

In an emergency like this one you can just throw 12V and ground on the plug going to the motor itself and it will either go up or down

its a vert, when this happens u usually take the switch apart and clean the copper contacts inside and put it back together. its fairly common

^yeah- Very true!

OP- Mine had all kinds of funny problems- I dont remember the pins off the top of my head- but you can hit em with your multimeter looking for DC voltage. only 2 will give you voltage. the other two are the motor feed lines. put one charged pin with one uncharged (motor) pin, and the other charged pin with the other uncharged (motor) pin. if it goes down, then switch the uncharged pins. (foward or reverse polarity determine if teh window goes up or down)

I want to say it was (inline) ( mtr+ / mtr- / 12vdc- / 12vdc+ ) but dont hold me to that, i may be thinking of the foward windows....

thanks for the help... i took apart the switch last night and cleaned up the contacts but still nothing, when you hit the up position you hear the click of the switch but nothing from the window when you hit down you hear what sounds like a relay and the lights dim slightly (window is full down) so its kinda weird the switch looks good but i dont have a multimeter to test it.. hoping it doesnt rain before monday i'm just gonna take it to my mechanic and say whatever it needs get it done

so it is the switch... and not a contact cleaning issue... if you tap on the switch with a wrench while holding the up button it eventually brings the window up... ordered a new switch from the dealer $48 + $10 shipping should have it in a few days
