So since last summer when I drove across country, my power steering has been messed up. Sometimes when I start the car I have it, and other times I don't. Does anyone have any idea why this may be?
Also, what's the worst that could happen if I drive on blown struts? My front ones I can tell are just about done because they creak wicked badly whenever I go over a speed bump and decompress much slower than my rears (which were replaced about 20,000 ago), but is it an absolute must for me to replace them? I'm trying to save money to get a newer car after I graduate next year, so every penny counts... Thanks! |

I know you're trying to save money but I'm sure your life is more important than a new car. I'd say if this car is your daily driver; you should replace your struts. Driving with a blown strut or nearly blown strut can cause damage to the tire which is gonna cost you more. But that's not the most concerned thing. The most concern thing is driving with bad struts can cause you to steer in a different direction... Left or right and it's harder or pretty hard to control depending on how bad the struts are. That's no beuno in my opinion cuz your car can start randomly swaying into another lane or even worst; oncoming traffic
I say don't go cheap; life is more important; especially since your powersteering isn't always working so that makes it harder and worst lol. |
