Last time we tried doing the drivers side axle we thought it was all the way in and wasn't and ended up breaking the tip off. This time we would like to get another opinion on whether or not this looks like it is in all the way.

Will appreciate all the input given. THanks

Take a rubber mallet and tap the axle in. When it is in all the way you'll hear difference from the sound being not in all the way and being in all the way. Plus the axle won't go any farther.

I had similar issue recently. To me it looks its not all the way in. I thought it was and when I poured transmission fluid it started leaking. I put a piece of wood on it and hit it the wood with hammer and it slided all the way in.

the way i do it is:

alight the axle so its as straight as you can get it. Then hit the side where it connects to the steering knuckle with a rubber mallet. If that doesn't try reseating the axle.

Well we got it with a crowbar. Unfortunately while taking out the transmission we bent the plate going around the outside of the tranny and now the flywheel is rubbing it kindasad.gif
