I'm going to crazy lengths to try to find an alternator bracket for my celica. Everyone says that you have to change the alternator brackets when you are going to put a mr2 3stge into a celica. Why can't I get the bracket for the MR2 and put it on the celica? And will the 5sfe alternator work on the gen III engine? Does anyone have pictures of the two? Does something need to be ground down so that it doesn't hit something? Or does it mount the alternator in a different place than the celica 3sgte? Pics please if possible! Thanks!!

MR2 alternator is mounted on the back side of the motor. Celicas mount on the front side.

oh..ok, that makes sense because the mr2 doesn't have a power steering pump on the engine, they have a electrical power steering pump and the alternator is mounted where the pump would go on the celica..hmm..ok, question answered. So the spot where the alt is mounted on the celica is blank on the mr2 3sgte then I guess...

I have experience with the mr2 alterator bracket and yes it works with out grinding or massaging. I willpost pics upa little later when I find my old setup. Its a way cleaner look than having in front but it is true you have to say bye to the power steering.
