hey guys searched around for a while looking for info on the catch can. just wanna see pics or hear about what you guys did.. can it be eliminated? and pros and cons about it.. thanks in advance.

I could be wrong, but its not something you eliminate. Stock cars usually have a PCV system. I lets oil/gas/fumes out of the crankcase, with a oneway check valve, then feeds it back into the intake so it's burned.


Catch cans are used because in boosted applications you create positive crankcase pressure and beyond a certain PSI (depends on the engine) the PCV system is not addequate.


Here's pics of mine on my rx7, but really they all function the same. I have a -10an line coming off each valve cover that I had a bung welded on. Then running to the catch can.

that's what i figured. now could i run the hose to stock can. and the hose that drains back into block. and then put a filter to the can instead of running hose to the intake?

You could probably use any generic type hose, go to lowes and buy reinforced rubber hose.


If you want OEM take a pic of the broken part and I can probably get you a part number.

I need the whole catch can.. there is a smaller niple on one side that's broke off.. I got plenty hose.. I just need a new tank cause i can't find the niple peace that broke off other wise i would plastic solder it back together.

I'd go with an aftermarket one then, just look on summit's website that matches something close. It's not a USA part on any car so you cant get it from the dealers here.

well i know the 2nd gen motor has one too i believe.. but i don't wanna buy a aftermarket one cause fittings are never the same lol.. maybe i'll just make one

it retails for US$74.19

I'd try to get a used one.

hey culp that part number didn't come up with anything on lithia catalog.. if anything i'll just try fixing it or make one lol.

here are some photo's of mine to give you some ideas, I run 3 -10 fitting off to small catch cans and then from there off to a bigger hidden tank (this is for track use)
