ok so just lately my 5s has been making a weird grinding noise at just over 3000 rpm now when i say grinding noise i mean high speed vibration that sounds like a grinder also there is no loss in power or any thing else i know i should take it to the mechanic but just wanna get an idea of what i may be in for
will update with a vid later down the track |

My 90 has a noise like that, It sounds like something is rubbing up against the exhaust somewhere.

95CelicaST is spot on... my car was making same noise and it was the converters heatshield vibrating from a weld that broke loose, got it rewelded and havent heard it since

Lol I thought my rattle was bad, does sound like exhaust, hold a piece of wood on parts of it and if it stops then thats it! or alternately look over it and see if any bolts are loose.
