went to my first gymkhana practice today. it was a blast. i was one of like 10 cars and the only american. every one else was japanese. they were awesome. i wish i would not have forgot my camera. i was way slow but im still learning my car and it was the first time i hit the track with it. i was about 15 seconds slower then the fastest time. i have definitely identified a few upgrades that are needed. so on the list in the near future; a new set of wheels for track use only with some sticky tires, front and rear strut tower bars, rear sway bar, SS brake lines, slotted rotor w/EBC yellow stuff pads and a different set of coil-overs, and a darn drift ebrake knob. (even with it taped down it kept catching) once i get this stuff down and some practice i should be able to put down some pretty good times. if any one has an interest in this stuff you should really find a local place and set it up. it really is a blast!!!!!!!!!

this is pretty much my favorite video of gymkhana its ken block he's like number 2 pretty much in the world. Tanner Foust always kicks his butt.
Ken Block its like a mix between autocross and drift. the courses get very technical as you can see in the video, but he is a professional. its one of the quicker growing auto sports especially over here in japan. i know there are places in the states that have the events just depends on where you are at. |
