does anyone know how to complete deactivate a factory alarm for my 1996 toyota celica ST, for some reason its killing my battery, my car wouldnt turn on, the strange thing about it is that i bought a new battery and while i was pulling it to my house it turned on but the alarm was going off at the same time, it didnt turn off until i took the negative terminal off, anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

The factory alarm should be underneath your driver's side seat. I think you either need the remote for it, or turn the key in the ignition once, back then once again and it should turn off. (My alarm goes off if i don't start the car within 15 or so seconds.) Does your alarm go off if you open your door and don't start it within a certain time? Hope that helps, James |
