when i got my car a while back it has J Speed Coilovers on it. at least on in the rear is blown maybe both, and they bounce really back. i hit the track a couple weeks ago and i kept bottoming out really back so i decided to get a different set. i came across a set of TRD Coilovers i just won them on auction tonight and currently waiting for them to get shipped so i can check them out. i really hope they're in good condition. i figure i can get a set of adjustable pillow ball mounts and be good to go. any one know for sure if there are adjustable damper, and if i could send them off to toyota to have them rebuilt if i need to?

you would have better luck rebuilding the Jspeed coilovers, I think TRD stopped making parts for those coilovers a while ago, and the TRD damper is only 4 way adjustable, so you would only have 4 settings on each coilover, that's not ideal for fine tuning your suspension for the track.

you might be wrong Culpable. I contacted toyota trd about 5 months ago about getting cartridges for the ST202 Superstrut TRD Coilovers. I'm pretty darn sure that trd makes a set of brand new coilovers for the GT-4 at $3,200 when I last checked. So I would only assume that they would have the cartridges brand new still readily available to purchase. They will not be cheap to buy, because these shocks aren't rebuild-able, you need to buy brand new cartridges. Last I checked they were $1,500 for the cartridges alone for the ST202.

Koni North America is located 20min from me and has a service center that can convert Non-Koni shocks and do custom setups..
I am going to look into this option and see what cost will be. Update in my project thread when i found out.. I have 3 set of TRD coilovers and might be cheaper to get them all done at once.. -------------------- Old guy with the toys

I believe I remember trying to contact koni about their custom setup and they said they wouldn't!!! are you sure about that??? Since koni does already make the yellow adjustable shocks for our 94-99 celica the insert is the same size for Superstrut and Macpherson size cartridge inserts. Please find out for me I would greatly appreciate it. -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts

Just FYI i checked with toyota about 8months ago through Bill at B&M, and the qoute i got for a rebuild for a set of TRD coilovers was around 1000 bucks...TO be honest man i think your best bet would be to invest in a BC set, as 1000 for a rebuild is rediculous...

You can still adjust the damper via the top nut (1~4). TRDGT4 has tracked his GT-Four many times, and as far as I'm aware hes had no issues with them

Thats a goo question. I also heard that the tein and TRD struts/cartridges are the same. Made by the same manufactuerer you are wrong. Tein charges $75 to revalve/rebuild them while toyota TRD Coilovers are not rebuildable. TRD you need to buy the whole cartridge. so i was wondering since they are just cartridges, couldnt i just get a set of like koni cartridges or something just match the correct size with the table above and i should be good to go right? like i said I tried before but I got nothing. Contact them again to see what they say you have all the info you need on sizing and dampening. -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts
