cv boot is split, does the joint make any noise?esp on full lock driving slowly..?if so it will need a new joint..
Make sure you put some grease in it also as it prob lost some..

could also be called outer drive shaft gator..

Just buy it from an auto shop, its the inner cv boot, shouldn't be more than $10, good luck!

thats definitely the outer cv boot (look at the brake line, a-arm, and angle of the axle). if it was the inner you would be better off just getting the whole axle assembly because that boot is a b***h to get off and on. since its the outer though, replacement is fairly quick, easy, and cheap.

Don't follow this advice, that's the stupidest idea ever. You want to get this fixed as soon as possible before it gets worse. Just go to an auto store and order a new one, shouldn't be more than $125 for an axle

u really dont need a whole new axle, just a cv boot... outer cv boot is like $10-$20 at an auto parts store... as long as there is no popping sound, like pop cans, then the cv joint is fine, the boot just needs replaced

Replace the boot and don't forget to grease it.
