Eibach Sportlines are one of the best sets of springs you can get for our cars. They lower the car 1.5". I have them and like them a lot. If you want to go lower, the Intrax springs lower the car 1.75". If you want lower than that, get full coilovers or the Ground Control coilovers. smile.gif

And you don't need new struts, though if yours are worn then I suggest replacing them with KYB GR-2s or Koni Yellows. smile.gif

I got mine from The Tire Rack. eBay is good as well, and I thought I read something about someone liking ordering stuff from Shox.com. smile.gif

how could i tell what type of shape my shocks are in?

Coomer, does your car bottom out at all with the sportlines? how would you describe the ride quality/handling vs the stock springs?

I actually used to occasionally bottom out when I didn't have the bumpstops installed, but one weekend I tore the front apart and put the bumpstops back in, and now I probably bottom out sometimes, but the bumpstops prevent me from bottoming out completely. The ride quality is a little bit more harsh over stock, though handling is improved fairly well. smile.gif

Ive got the sportline/Koni combo and like it alot. As of right now the koni's aren't really stiff because its been wet and I have been only able to adjust the fronts becuase the backs need a little more torque on them to get them to stiffen them up since they are new. But the ride I would say would be close to stock right now. It handles alot better than stock and is deffenatly more stiffer. But I got mine from tire rack through the adds shippped for 196.

so whats the best way to go for a 1.5inch drop AND great ride quality? the sportline/Koni combo?

its kind of odd that coomer would bottom out with 1.5inch drop and 17s. you would think that since the 17s are about 2in bigger then stock 15s, you wouldnt bottom out at all.

are the bumpstops a part of the stock suspension that you just forgot to put back in?

the rim is bigger, but the tires are smaller, so it doesn't matter. If you want ride quality, don't get Koni. For the springs I would go with Tein. According to the descriptions I have read, they are more for show, so they are probably softer for your bottom, lol.
