Hey everyone,
I can't give SUPER details, because I'm in Japan atm, but my dad has been using my car while I've been on my trip, and in the past couple of weeks he's had some major problems with the clutch not completely disengaging, and now not at all. when it started to have problems, my dad bled the clutch to see if there might be some air in the lines. he started to notice stuff in the lines, and decided to replace the slave cylinder. this helped and the clutch worked for a few days before he started to have problems again and eventually wouldn't disengage at all... so he replaced the Master cylinder and its still not disengaging. he is extremely frusterated (and trust me his emails are bad enough to piss me off) and is probably going to take it to a shop on Monday. but before he spends the cash, I was wondering if there is anything he should look into or any tips on how to trouble shoot it? I had him check the shifting cables and they are good, and the Clutch line is new and should be fine. thanks for the help in advance, Kevin |

My best bet is that he blew out some springs on the clutch disc. Same thing happened with mine, but I couldn't get it into gear and I jammed it in and blew out the disc altogether lol

I guess the Pressure plate broke... its going to cost over $600 to replace... and thats with getting the parts... No offense to the mechanics out there... but really, I could replace a damned Clutch in less than a day with limited tools... so I have no clue how its costs so much. I'm sure, if the person who was doing the work just did it, and not goof around it wouldn't take him his entire work day and $600 and its not like you wont have work to do...
meh guess I'm just venting... Kevin |
