Hey everybody, been a long time since I have logged onto 6GC! A few friends of mine have called me informing me of some less than flattering comments being made about me on this site, regarding past customers. I want to start out by saying I have not been accepting orders from 6gc members for the past 2 months now, and will not be accepting orders from this point on. I am not a vendor, nor did I ever claim to be. I an just a car enthusaist like everyone else here...and had a great connection to JDM imports. I pasted this connection onto the community, and yes made a few bucks at it. But this was/is NOT my lively hood. I have a full time job, very busy personal life, and personal projects going on just like everyone else...then factor in the JDM importing stuff, and you can see how quickly I could fall behind on the LARGE volume of sales that have come my way over the past year.

When I first started, I was only selling about 15 motors a year....then after the first year, I sold almost 50. There is sometimes problems with shipping, wrong parts, broken parts, missing parts, etc...so when dealing with a volume of 50 motors a year...I had trouble keeping up with everyones questions, problems, installs, tech help, etc. I dont have the time, or the patience for that matter, to deal with engine sales anymore.

As for past customers, you all have my phone number and I am not running from anyone. I have never ran in the past, and I am not running now...so please dont spread rumors. I am dealing with JAPAN, and I can only relay the information I get from them, to YOU. If I am given wrong information, then you are given wrong information. If I am sent wrong parts, then I cant send you the right parts. This is the nature of the beast...and lately there has been an ABUNDANCE of miss communication among my suppliers, customs, suppliers, etc. Bear with me and EVERYONE will get exactly what they paid for.

As for me, I look forward to putting this behind and becoming more active in the community like I used to. No more pushing parts, ordering parts, importing parts, tearing apart half cuts, stripping engines, etc....LOL unless I need it for my cars of course smile.gif I look forward to pushing the envelope again, putting the cars on the rollers and posting numbners, turning doubters into believers about what can and cant be done on these engines. I look forward to just truely enjoying my cars and working on them like I used to, before it becae a "JOB" I wont be back on this site for a while, so for those that want to get in touch with me, you all have my number. I havent even looked up the "I hate Jim threads" yet, as I feel everything was covered in this post. For my many friends/followers on this site, please direct anyone "bad mouthing" me to this post and have them call me.

Thank you 6GC, and I look forward to posting numbers of both my alltrac and my Blue Celica. Everyone stay tunned!!!

Just to let everyone know, I was one of Jim's customers from roughly 2 years ago.. he sold me a motor.. had some problems but it was worked out.. could things have been better? yes IMO. But it was both ways not just his, we worked it out and I was actually thinking about getting a clip from him a year ago. One thing ive learned is that when it comes to purchasing motors(not clips) there's ALWAYS going to be something missing, which is why I will never ever buy an engine set again. Its far too risky and not worth it IMO. In terms of the transaction, it went according to plan, I got the engine set really quickly. I think overall Jim is a good seller I'd give him a 4 out of 5 rating. Sorry to see isn't selling anymore though.

jim, i cannot blame them from "bad mouthing". if you sell goods or wanted to help out the community, you commit to the buyer your time and support and ensure its delivery in a timely manner.

if u cannot commit time, then might as well not do it at all. kindasad.gif

Yeah I have it, yeah I text him all the time. Most the time I get no response. On occasion I get one response, then if I ask a part two to the question, no response. Sometimes I just get told stuff like "I'll get you a tracking number friday" that never happens.

Like previously stated, I just want to know the honest situation with my stuff...

luckily I have never gotten screwed by anybody on here, but there is something that I would like to add. I have never done business with Jim and I don't know him, but one thing I do know is that when somebody takes the time to offer a service that they charge money for, and the customer is left waiting after paying with no product, that is called fraud. Plain and simple. If you can't fullfill the orders because you took too much on your plate, that is not the customer's fault, problem, or responsibility. There are far too many excuses (I've read the threads, and it's bullsh!t). Too many customers have been lenient and they are getting walked all over. Sellers, if you can't hold up your end of the deal and produce the paid for service or item, then you refund ALL of the money that was paid to you, clear and simple. That's how it goes. What happens when a seller takes the money and a customer gets no item/service that they paid for? It becomes a legal matter! Now I'm not trying to "stir the pot" or anything, but seriously this Jim has made thousands (or at least was paid thousands by members here) and it seems that many of you are left with NOTHING. You know what I would do? Pay that $25 filing fee for small claims court and let the judge take over. Re-read Jim's post and he says that he'll keep getting imported parts for HIS cars, but what about YOUR money that is owed?? Jim, you know what you need to do? And it's a bit ridiculous that somebody has to tell you this, but you need to put YOUR cars aside, REFUND everyone that you took money from, and MAKE IT RIGHT. Small claims only has a $3,000 cap but it sounds like more than that is due to your customers, so it could get ugly for you pretty quick unless several small claims court cases start getting filed by different customers.... that's gonna be a lot of court fees that you'll have to pay. You'll probably have to sell your cars to try and cover it, did you think about that Jim? Probably not. It is a really crappy situation and you have nobody to blame but yourself, yeah times are tough for EVERYONE and people trusted you to deliver, and you haven't, so how does that NOT make you a scammer and guilty of fraud? rolleyes.gif

Makes me think twice about buying from anyone on here, seems like more people are getting desperate for money and so good people are getting taken advantage of. Online transactions are still transactions, and are 100% valid in court. Hope everyone that has money owed will file that $25 fee, call it an attention getter!!

I think that #1 flaw in this entire circus is that Jim is or was selling goods that he did not have on hand. Financially speaking it implied that he did not have to order engines or parts using his money. That also implied that by doing so he took a huge risk of assuming that he would get the engine or parts in a timely manner himself and then got stuck dealing with consequences of trying the most economical (for him) route.

What he should have done was take out a loan, buy and import an engine. Sell the engine. Profit. Buy another engine and have it imported. Sell the engine. Profit. That option would have done wonders for both his credit as well as his reputation.

I have gone through similar thing when I had my engine swap on my now sold celica. They spent 1 month instead of 2 weeks trying to get it here and when they did it had a cracked transmission so they sent it back and had another one here in 2 weeks. Apparently someone knew how to push the right buttons to accelerate the process. That is what buyers are expecting especially when you start talking large figures.

My advice to Jim is if he ever gets back into business of selling anything is to first have it on hand and then sell it... otherwise everyone is going in blind and it will turn out ugly... as it did for several people.

Well, this was a good read considering I just had the poo scared out of me.

In the process of moving, wasn't keeping up with news and I'm quite commited right now with you sir on a engine set. Then reading everything once I get inets back..you can understand my worry.

I understand your woes, as I have had simliar issues in the past juggling a full time job and a hobby gone crazy!

I hope our transaction ends smoothly, so we can right all these wrongs, and have all happy again.

I have contacted the few members who are awaiting completion of there orders. Everyone is satisfied with the outcome and understanding of the situation.

I have NEVER recieved money from a member here and ran, and I never will. These last few customers were MISSING something, or had BROKEN items with there purchase. An easy oversight or more likly shipping damage. I have been in contact with them to ensure they do in fact have everything they paid for. The time constraints come from dealing with parts that are NOT found on US soil. So I have to deal with overseas. I have to wait for a container to come in, have in clear customs, inspect which engines will be parted, then get the customers there items. Shipping alone can take up to 3 months by the time the container is loaded.

As for "making excuses," I have no need to justify what happened anymore then I have...ESPECIALLY to members who have never done business with me. I have spoken with the few members with outstandings orders, and have been doing everything in power to make everything right by them. As far as I am concerned, everyone is happy with the outcome, and glad it is behind us. They may have waited an AWFUL long time (some of them) but that was really out of my control.

Thank you 6GC

Its unfortunate that you're getting out of the engine game, cause I thought one day if I'd be gettin a 3s, it would be through you.
Glad to hear you're making everythin right

I do have to defend Jim on this one. A little over a year ago, I bought an engine from him. With a couple of days of buying the engine, before he even had a chance to ship it out, things went bad on my end. I contacted Jim and let him know what was up and he went well above and beyond what could reasonably be expected of him as a seller. He always stayed in excellent contact. I never had more than a few hours go by without a returned email/pm. Manny and several other members on here know him personally, and all of them have excellent things to say about him. We know that Manny doesn't put up with any crap so if Jim was out to screw us, he wouldn't be able to do it on this site.

To those that are currently out of money and waiting on parts/motors, I can also say I understand your side. It's pretty crappy to spend that kind of money and wait this long for your stuff to arrive. I don't believe that Jim is out to screw anybody over. However, this isn't the first "I'm waiting on parts from Jim" thread. All of those threads ended with parts received or money refunded.
