I love having a work crew that actually works on cars. James (my buddy that owns the Corvair and knows the most about body work) has the VW Diesel Coupe Jetta, Raquon (knows a lot about subies) owns the 1.1 Carb 85 RX7. I was getting sick of having a parking lot full of stock cars. We're parts guys... we should have crazy **** for rides lol.

I'm a huge car guy, and work on them all of the time. My car is about as stock as it gets. Something isn't adding up. tongue.gif

Not sure if the Civic has 4x4 ride height or if it just looks that way when sitting next to your car. laugh.gif

My car kind of makes everything look tall lol. Her next step is coilovers and she's rather touchy on being at stock height.

Rust and paint fix is next on the list. Using my tax return money to do that come spring. Then I'll concentrate on power increase. I'm thinking due to my heavy work schedule, low funds and lack of place to swap an engine, I may not do BEAMS but do cams and an SAFC instead. I've got a decent burn going on with the exhaust valves, so I'll be swapping out heads too. (Since rebuilding one is actually more expensive than buying a reman one from my work lol)

So I'll have a brand new(sort of) head to put on that I can tinker with in my room of my apt and put the cams in that before installing it.

Anyone know if reman heads are decked? Decking it would increase compression and performance as well right? Also, head gaskets, I've heard the 98+ ones are the ones to go with.

Thank you! It means a lot. I'm on a quest to be different, and Dustin, that's also why I haven't gone JDM tail and just painted the amber corners red like the rest of the light. Seeing that everyone at the meet had JDM tails, just further fueled my dislike for them haha.

Shaving heads will raise the compression. Depending on how far you raise the compression you'll have to use premium, though it's a good way to add in some power. Off the top of my head as an example the L28E used in the 280ZX gained 10 hp by going from 8.3:1 to 8.8:1, though it's a larger engine. Would just have to find someone that's gone with a N/A to see what they recommend. Could possibly go 10:1 or higher along with cams etc... and see a noticeable increase in performance.

That's true haha. But I meant hatchbacks.

I've got a good longtube header too... So I can increase airflow
