If I put some 17" rims with 45 tires...will that jack the car lil much too high? (if I still have stock suspension and no lowering springs)

the problem is that I need my car for winter..at least for the next one...that's why im asking that
if I lower it..I cannot put my winter tires/rims (15") can I simply use some lower profile tires? like 40? |

na...when winter comes...I want to switch my 17" rims for my stock 15" rims
but If I put springs...I cant drive with 15"...

I finally got my 17's. It looks fine with stock suspension and 45 seriese tires.

I got 17's on mine and it looks fine, but i do plan to get it lowered in the future.

i have 17 and i think it looks ok. my friends give me crap about it looking like a monster truck but its fine with me. and well i am a big kid so when i sit in the car it looks lowered anyway. haha

dude thats great..  .... oh yeah, i have mine lowered with sportlines and have stock tires on and it just snowed here like maybe 6 inch's or so and it did great i mean yeah the bottom did slide over the snow but it was good to me

When my friend and I painted my drums, we took the Celi to his shop and lifted it up about a foot with the hydraulic lift. The front wheels were still touching, and the back were Just off of the ground. I should have taken a picture, because it looked like it had been jacked up for rally or something, lol |

i think they say 215/45, but ill sheck on the 40's. Feel free to post if someone gets to it b4 i do.

Ok, i searched the forums and...........some of our own peeps are runnin 205/40/17 and 215/40/17.
Oh and use this... http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html 215/40/17 is more ideal tho. It keeps you closer to stock speedo readings. This post has been edited by LatinKraze: Dec 19, 2003 - 8:47 PM |

if you lower before puttin on rims you would still be able to switch to the 15" rims in the winter. i'm lowred right now using the 14" steelies

you've lowered with coilovers.. I guess it's the best way to lower our cars and be still able to drive it in winter...am I right? I think im going to do 40 tires/17" rims + coilovers... but what are the best coilover we can get for our cars? |

yes i guess coilover would be beneficial to you in the snow allowing you to raise and lower your car. i got them because i wanted a maximum drop the best coilvoers for our car are made by tein but are quite expensve (1000-2000) the second best is Ground Controls, what I have. DON'T GET ANY COILOVERS OF LESS QUALITY!!! you will regret it. cormudgen |
