Hey Guys,
Since I got back from the body shop, my door open sensors don't work on either of my doors. I can open them, and the lights don't turn on, and the little door open indicator in the guage cluster doesn't turn on either, and my auto-off headlights don't work either. I need to get this fixed soon, because I'm so used to auto-off headlights that I accidentally left my lights on at work yesterday. It was a good thing that my friend drove by and told me after about 15 minutes. Has this happened to anyone, and does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to fix this? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Fuses? Was your paint job a tape and paint or pull the windows and all and paint?
If the shop messed with your doors in any way they should be responcible for that. -Bryan- -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe

Thanks for the advice guys. Tomorrow I'll check those fuses and see if that's what's wrong. If that's not it I'll talk to the body shop and see what they can do.

I just got this fixed today. It turned out to be that the ground for the sensor got painted, so it wasn't working. So I just scraped away some paint and now it works.

Its amazing how electrical niggles like yours Coomer come down to either
grounding problems or plug connectors, or tensionings on electrical contacts. The best approach is always rule out the simplest and the obvious first, it saves you time in the long run, believe me I know , I work in electronics servicing. Congrats on sorting the problem. |
