so today i was coming back from the junkyard and saw a 95 (i think cause it was prefacelifted and i think verts were made in 95-99 only?) celica gt for sale

got him down to $2200

my question is: is it worth the 2200?

  • 123XXX miles
  • auto
  • 2.2 5sfe
  • white
  • decent top with plastic for the back

drive was really smooth, never felt a celica be that smooth before. but then again i havent really been in a stock good celica before all i test drove were in bad condition and/or high miles and then my vert is a totally different story

so what u guys think?

I bought a salvage 94 gt, white, liftback in 2008 with 147000, i paid 2800$. I now have 180,000 on the car and have hit another deer with it and fixed it again. Mine is also an automatic. If you want a car that will get between 26-32 depending on how you drive it and you need this for a DD then I would say you're getting a good deal. The car won't shift past 3rd until it warms up just fyi. So if you ever think it has a tranny problem, it's just the way it's built. I love my 94 with the 2.2. The ONE thing I would watch on the car would be price for replacement parts, wheel bearings and the like. Parts for this car are $$$ than most, but it's reliable as hell otherwise. If it drives good and you want a celi, I'd buy it at that price.... esp if the title is clean

I'd just on it. The top is a replacement top if it's got the plastic. The mileage is great for our engines. If you've got the cash, and it's still there tomorrow, go get it. I just bought back my old one in October for $2650. Had 160k miles, two bad cv joints, a rust spot on the rear quarter, and separation at the top of the rear glass, zero speakers that worked 100%, bum high beams, and some clearcoat issues. I think I remember it being almost $1k under the fair value for the '96. Of course, had it not been mine before, I would have kept looking. If there's a ragtop Celica priced like that around here, it usually sells within 2-3 days. Get it and resale it if you want to! But I'd jump on it!
