AS OF 07/30/11 AT 7PM I WAS COMING HOME FROM A PARK WITH 3 OTHER PEOPLE IN MY CAR. AS SOON AS WE EXITS THE ENTRANCE MY CAR STARTING SPEEDING REALLY FAST LIKE SOMEONE HAD JUST SLAMMED THEIR FOOT ON MY GAS PEDAL...OH BOY I WAS IN DEEP TROUBLE...I HAD TO SHIFT GEARS SO QUICK SO THAT I WON'T HIT THE REDLINE AND BLOW MY ENGINE.. I PULLED OVER AND SET MY CAR ON NEUTRAL BUT MANN MY CAR WAS STILL REFFING SO I TURNED OFF MY ENGINE...TURN MY ENGINE BACK ON AND IT DID THE SAME THING..AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY MY CAR IS DOING THAT.. I CALLED A FRIEND AND HE TOLD ME TO UNPLUGGED MY BATTERY FOR 10 SECS. AND PUT IT BACK ON.. AND IT WORKED...OH BOY SO I THANKED THE LORD BECAUSE NOBODY WAS HURT AND LUCKILY THERE WEREN'T ANY CARS DURING THAT TIME...

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEMS, ANYONE KNOW OR HAS BEEN THROUGH THE SAME?

The caps lock really isn't necessary. As far as your friend unplugging the battery, that's a moot point since the Celica uses a drive-by-cable throttle, not drive-by-wire. It's a mechanical system so odds are if your throttle cable stuck once, it could stick again. You need to check that out. It could be a burr on the cable.

OHH GAWD NOO NOT THE CELICAS TOOS!!!!!!

NO ONE IS SAFE!!!!!

YOU SHOULD HAVE turned the key off maybe? yeah that works.

clean up your throttle body and cable. build up can make it stick... but its not gonna ALLL OF THE SUDDEN ACCELERATE.....

you must have floored it, and since its dirty or gummed up, it stuck.

THIS IS A PROBLEM YOU CREATED BY IGNORING A SICKY GAS PEDAL WHICH CAN BE CAUSED BY A DIRTY BUTTERFLY VALVE IN THE THROTTLE BODY A BAD THROTTLE CABLE OR IN RARE CASES IT HAS BEEN A DIRECT RESULT FROM POSTING IN ALL CAPS AND IGNORING THE USE OF PUNCTUATION

EDIT DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER

VTEC JUST KICKED IN NOOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously by reading your original post nothing adds up we don't have drive by wire so resetting the battery would do you no good if your gas pedal was stuck.
