I have a 5SFE engine auto tranny..... i'm trying to go to a 3sgte manual swap.

First problem!
1- I cant find an exact breakdown or at least a good one on (how to) do the swap.
2- do you guys know where i can find a pretty kewl breakdown of the wire harness conversion ( i understand its tedious) but i want to do it myself personally i don't think it would be that hard if u had a good schematic
3- answer this straight forward and not like a kid!!! ---- how good is the 5sfe Turbo compared to the 3sgte swap...is it worth it ( yea i know its a great engine but...) can i get pretty dam close with the 5sfe .. remember answer this one like an adult not telling me how its cooler cause its a better engine because thats where all the hype is...... but rather you to be honest you could do a turbo just as great.....but if it isn't nowhere near than kewl just be straight forward.

Thanks Guys appreciate the feed back.we are all family here ....one....

Ther are a few guys that have done the 5SFTE and loved it. If you look up presure2's topic you find his build on the 5SFTE there are others that I just can't think of at the moment. But its pretty much what you want to do both are good engines.

Sorry to say I can't answer the other two questions.

question 2&3: presure2's swap topic actually goes into detail on how to wire, and his opinion of 3sgte vs 5sfte.

u gotta READ the swap threads.

The auto trans cant hold the power of a 5sfTe. So if you plan to go that route, you would still need to convert to a manual.

ATS RACING uses the 5sfe block with one of there kits that makes like 700hp but i would go with the 3rd gen head and a 5sfe transmission s54 ..... but if u ask me i think it will be cheaper to just get a 3rd gen and u would get more power anddd a stronger block

depends on how much power you want, theres a guy on here that has a 3sgte with an auto tranny and it holds up fine

answers.

0. search and read the stickies

1. ST205 shift cables for any E series tranny

2. No. u were auto. the three trans mouts are diff. u need an ST205 rear mount, GT front and drivers mount

3. MR2 Turbo Inners w/ lsd, ST185 outters. possbly a spacer, depending on ur setup
