Well, I was "this" close to buying an AWD turbo Talon...a '94. But the bank said it was too expensive. I was in love with that car after I test drove it, so I took it pretty hard. Then a week later, I found the Celica...well, actually I found it a few months earlier, and it was still sitting there at the car lot, so I went down, test drove it, and took it home.
On a side note, an old friend of mine took me for a ride in his Talon...I kinda want one now. |

My first car was a 1986 Chevy Corvette. It was Hella fast and handled like nothing I have ever been in, but on a college student's budget, 14mpg on the highway was too much to handle. My brother got the celica I have now when it was on the showroom floor. When he graduated from college, he went and found a 02 trans am. They asked if I would rather have the 6th gen or the vette.
I chose my new baby, the 95 STelica!!! |

my first love was a copper orange eclipse. it was AWD turbo. we went to test drive it so i could more tahn likely take it home. i got it out of the lot and went to shift in second and there was no second. so i had to wait then found my celi and it was what suited me at the time and i still love it today.

Actually...yea I found the exact car I wanted, But if I could do it again I would go for a 99' GSX or GSR. I still love the style of the car but the 5SFcrapE is what i loathe.
But first car(no choice) was a ragged 94 Dodge Intrepid, But she caught wheels in first.. This post has been edited by 5sfeTurbo: Dec 16, 2003 - 2:33 AM |

When I first started looking to buy a new car I didn't even kno what a 6gc looked like. I was lookin at cars on AutoTrader and never looked up a celica. Cars I were lookin for were 2nd gen eclipses, integras, preludes. Saw an eclipse on auto trader that was at a dealer new my house so I went to the dealer.. the eclipse was gone, but the celica was parked on the lot. The lot was closed so I went home and e-mailed them about it and went and test drove it the next day. I still didn't have the money, was still lookin around. Test drove several cars after that, including another 6gc (that i wanted but got sold b4 I got funds) and then so when I got the money I finally went back to the 1st car I drove, the red 6gc. I like it a lot.

didn't have a whole lot of options, wife totaled our last car after she hit a moose, we were driving the rental in a mad search for a car we could live with in our price range(which wasn't much) didn't want the 6g at first cause of the bad rep it's got in some magazines i HAD been reading (SCC) but figured it's a toyota least of all it'll last forever. and well as of this month it's now paid off and i'm saving for some mods.

I had a lincoln 1985 Mark VII LSC. After my tranny blew, and broke a water seal, and got my windows busted, and the bags tore, and the gas mileage killed my wallet, and the moon roof stopped working, and the leather seats tore, and the rotors cost me $100 each, and my alternator gave out....sorry, u get the point....i started searching. Was settling down for a 91 integ LS 5spd, But the guy never sold it. I found my ride and bought it 2 days after the newspaper published it in the classifieds.

Yes, I went looking for a 6th Gen. This is approx. my 17th or so car, (20 something if you count the ones my wife has had) it was time for a new one, didnt really like anything new at the time. saw a really clean 6th gen in a parking lot, only to find out they had quit making them, so I started looking for used ones. Found mine in Boise Idaho, one owner, 32k GT 5sp. flew out, bought it, flew home to go to work while my wife drove it home to KC...

My first car was a 1983 Mercedes 300CD Turbodiesel That car was awesome. It was slow but it was just cool in its own way. The diesel engine also made a distinctive 5-cyl offbeat sound.
miss that beast. Got rear ended once and not a single scratch... a tank... but regarding Celicas.. I've always loved the 5th and 6th gen celicas since I was young! |

Well my first car was a ghetto 92 Pontiac LeMans SE... my aunt boght it for me right after I got my license.. or course being young I drove the heck out of it and wrecked it about 4-5 times. After working for awhile I decided I was going to buy myself a car that I actually liked. I lived in a small town so there was only two dealerships... one was a ford and the other sold eveything else. Walking to work one day I happened to and I noticed this beautiful car sitting out in the lot... moonroof, black, tan leather interior and 5 MT... this beauty of a car was a Toyota Celica GT. I slowly wiped the droul from my mouth and continued walking thinking how wonderful it would be to have that car. However by the time I was able to purchase a car that beauty had been long sold. I had heard of the heralded quality of Saturns at the time... From there I purchased my current car a 95 Saturn SC2... I actually pretty much feel in love with it... never had any problems with until the alternator blew at 96k miles... however it's been 7 years since that day I bought this friend and I got rear ended... totalling it. Now I find myself in search of the love the got away..
