Well i think it's about time i sat down and made a progression thread since ive had my car for about 3 and a half years bought it January 08. (please bare with me i don't have great memory and won't remember the details and the time of mods might be a lil out of place but here goes)
this is what i drove around before a great car roomy, reliable, strong engine, great family car a cressida. but i was 19 young naive and still under the influence of the fast and furious movies (unfortunately) and didn't want a family car i wanted a sports car. so i wanted a 90-93 celica with the pop up lights a 5th gen loved those car and wanted a stick shift car to learn and use as a DD for work and college. So i looked and i looked and i looked but while looking i stumbled upon a 94 celica GT stick shift lot of miles but good price and i knew the motor could give me like double what it had for just under 2K a couple on dings here and there high beam broken driver side fender dented but strong engine nice color i liked the tan interior even though the seats were torn up. so i picked it up. here the pics from the dealer Got it and within a couple days sold the cressida(which i do miss great car) first thing had to get a shift knob lol didn't have one and a $20 purchase at autozone took care of that but those $20 were the first of many purchases throughout these 3 1/2 years the very first "MOD" well i buckled down and learned how to drive stick shift in this car got the hand of it after some days of practice with my pops didn't "master it" till like a year latter. the first things i did were get seat covers and steering wheel cover and full tune up plugs wires oil ect. crappy but matched and got the job done and a decal for the trunk window one on each side after the year I started doing small mods and found this website which helped me tremendously in combination with eBay so i could afford to do mod's on my car i started. First Reverse indigo gauges got these for 30 bucks from a company called auto concepts on eBay by far the nicest looking gauges i saw at the time for price range all white at the day time completely dark at night except the numbers still have em on still look great only i scratched them rear the center and barley noticeable bug kinda bugs me I HAVE NEVER seen another set to buy tried but all the other ones don't appeal to me as much so stuck with these and replaced the bulb with crappy led's at this point (did a full LED with high quality ones a lil down the line) and got a chrome bezel for it. bought a LED under body kit, big mistake looked real nice and flashy never really used them i installed them poorly so one fell off at some point should have just saved the money but you live and learn. got a nice key from ebay got some nice celica dragon decals for each rear quarter panel window got clear side markers and momo pedals loved the pedals but wore them out very quickly. Completely washed clean scrubbed the engine and painted some components. replaced some lines with blue silicone tubing ect got some nice compliments (gonna try and restore it haven't kept it as clean and nice) Also got a Injen SRI from eBay for about 100 bucks which was great added a great song to the engine at this point replaced my old crappy rubber carpets with vincedoggy's celica carpets and also did the shifter, ebrake, and arm rest covers. got some 8500K 80watt Xenom "HID" bulbs for the front and to this day some thing i regret putting blue Vinyl sticker stuff all over what i now realize was a great black interior trimming Change the stock rear lights to the 100000X better kouki JDM tails My radiator at this point was busted and leaking so i decided to go with this (wanted koyo but was out of my price range) so far has still held up well got my hands on some euro fogs which i wired and loved the look they added and the light at night time Got a FULL body paint job took out all the ding and dents and got it nice and smooth Blue Spectra Mica (love the color) custom modded the interior clock to look blue with photography filters. got tired(lol PUN) of my stock steelies and painted them graphite and painted calipers blue upgraded all my speakers and the head unit a jvc mobile kw-avx810 headunit and 8inch menphis speakers 6.5inch,4inch,1inch kicker speakers and change to the 7th gen antenna base and a stubby antena and got mirror cover from vincent doggy also did a lil brake light mod how to is floating around some where out there i had a alarm system that was installed but its was unplugged (maybe dealer didn't have alarm remote) hooked it up and have remote made works fine nothing special but nice to have some sort of alarm okay this is were everything hits the Fan after all this withing a month of painting and fixing a rainy evening i got on a ramp to get on the high way and hydro planed right into the ramp divider this completly put me out of sync with my car stopped moding it and investing money in it so for about 2 yrs i just drove it and that's it. recently i kinda fell in love with it again and picked up where i kinda left off i bought the vince doggy door card inserts and custom door sills, got the clear courtesy lights and put blue led in them, Bought some recaro evo IX seats and installed the with corbeau brackets DID the whole GT4 Front end conversion(during a hurricane lol) got projector high beams upgraded my battery terminals got a whole body kick front and rear splitters and side skirts WRC Rain guard and celica custom pedals IF this is long just read it over the course of 3 yrs that's how long it took me to get here lol as far as future plans i got a whole list and ill post it tomorrow or thrursday and there probably a bunch of stuff i missed but this was way too big of a update to begin with and i didn't want a lot of lil post so sorry all. ------------------------Car Plans (future)----------------------- Exterior OEM the stuff that are Replica (hard to get and expensive so little by little) Paint - First priority Tint - Light blue get done at the same time as paint Lower - in suspension list Small stubby antenna that actually picks up stations and not just looks good Interior Seats replace rear with 7th gen black or grey leather Reupholster headliner (waiting on fabric to come in) Get Door card inserts professionally redone TRD Shortshifter (its hard to find one) Handling/Suspension (this is what im going to be working on) Front and rear sway bars and links (probably SP's) Underbody brace (maybe not) Good Front strut bar Coilovers - tein if can get at good price if not megan (in the mean time got a set of eibachi sportline and kyb shocks) want to do the ST205 Big double piston brake conversion at some point Performance/Power At some point (not soon) a 3SGTE swap want 3rd gen or higher a Transmition with LSD Forged pistons for the 3sgte (je or hks or wisco) 3'' exhaust for the 3sgte and a good muffler This post has been edited by spy00005: Oct 26, 2011 - 12:41 AM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

You should of kept that cressida, it was a classic and rwd too!! thanks man, i wish i could have kept it. they were my first cars were my dads and he gave em to me to learn to drive and use. i had 2 a 86 and a 88 (the 86 was run down and hit and run while it was parked ) but the 88 was great lot of miles but strong as hell but couldn't afford insurance for two car plus we have 4 cars in our family my celica, a sienna a previa and a camry. had to let it go. QUOTE another paint job soon? yea as soon as the guy im going to get comes back hes out of the country he does good quality work and pretty fast and he does body work i need to get some rust removed before it eats up the whole car. wanted to have it painted beginning of september but now hoping by end of september. -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

I'd suggest doing the jdm sidemarkers mod to your current fenders. It will complete the look 100%

I agree with Bonzai. Do the JDM sidemarkers then get that thing painted. That's a great color and it's going to look fantastic when it's done. Definitely go 7th gen wheels in white. Or even something similar to the factory SS-III or GT4 rims would look great.

i'll wait for trd shifter its worth the wait. maybe get 7th in the mean time. -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

there no advance auto any where around where i live i just checked but ive heard good things about hawk HPS so i think im going with those. first step is ordering the sway bars and end links, then slotted rotors brakes and ss lines, then paint and tire the tc rims and lower it and to top it off an alignment. so waiting till i get it painted because i wanted to do that before it gets too cold.

i like the tan/beige color i don't know why everyone hates it so much and its close enough that i don't have to redo the visors just clean them up and the sun roof cover as well. might change the carpet to black but redo the doorcard inserts with this and sew in the celica dragon from the door cards i bought from vince doggy.
