Most people will tell you custom, I mean there are some, but bear in mind, there is no coupe vs hatch specific IIRC. Use the search feature, you'll find tons of info about exhausts.

i went to a exhaust shop supplying the an aftermarket muffler that i bought and had them make me a 2.5" cat-back exhasut and put the muffler on for me.. think it was like 175$ but it was mild steel.. it all depends on the exhaust shop, not much for aftermarket exhaust for these cars or parts in general. toyota is NOTHING like honda, there isnt a big market in the US for parts, all over seas for most part. its good to see another guy with a coupe tho, not many around, i love mines

Thanks man, it takes time and paitence.
And no, I bought a muffler and brought it to an exhaust shop. You can sometimes buy a muffler through the exhaust shop too. And GT's are slow too trust me. 3SGTE swap or 3SGE Beams swaps is where its at. Post some pics up of the car so we can see the beast. -------------------- st205 powered ss3 coupe

My local exhaust shop charges the same amount of labor if I were to bring my own muffler or puchase one from them. I ended up picking up a magnaflow from a junk yard for 30 bucks. Cleaned/polished it up and the shop put it on for $45. I already had a 2.25" catback (fartcan, glad thats gone!) so really I was charged to chop off the old and re-weld the new.
Also, not sure about the shops in your area but the shop where i'm at will tack the exhaust on and let you listen to it. This way you know what your getting. If you are unsure of what brand/style but are 100% on getting one take your car down to a shop and have them mock it up for you and see if they'll even start the car so you can get a feel for how it looks/sounds. -------------------- |
