i already have HIDs installed on my car for high beam and low beam.
im about to install my jdm projectors and clear highs. i know high beams have the same bulb, so thats not the problem.

but with the low beam projectors, can i just buy a H7 HID replacement bulb and hook it up to my current ballast or do i have to buy another HID kit for the H7 bulb and then convert my harness from 9006 to h7?

i thought the projectors came with h1 bulbs?

and as far as i know, you can change bulb types without buying new ballasts. Just the harness might be different.

buy new bulbs that are H1...and use the same ballast.

THEN LOOK up how to for the H1 bulb into JDM projector by LewFX in the sticky

SAVE the plastic ring in the bulb when you receive it!

H7 is what came with it, maybe the seller just made a mistake...
Yea I saw that sticky, I know abt the plastic thing, but thanks anyways.
So just buy the replacement bulbs off eBay am good rite? The ballast itself shouldn't he 9005 type rite?

I'd be less worried about the HID kit and more worried about the LHD conversion for the projectors.

To answer your question, you should be able to replace the bulbs. The ballast isn't specific to the bulbs. The bulbs are H1, not H7.

just get a 9006 heavy duty harness and H1 harness, put them together and you have a 9006-H1 conversion adapter harness. NUFF SAID. Thats how I did mine, i think i have the best H1 conversion here, plug n play, and reversible back to 9006 just by removing the adapter you created.

I retract my previous statement. You'll need to make trdproven's harness, then it should be plug and play. That's how my DDM kit is, anyway.

its a must thats what you need to do cus you don't have the H1 harness cus you don't have the GT4. youll see what i mean when you can't plug in your H1 bulb correctly.

HIDs are meant for projectors, they are not made for nonprojector headlights because they scatter like crazy, at least the projector is contained. as you can tell lexus runs OEM HID on all their projectors. what i think you meant is not in regards to HIDs at all, it is more in regards the the projectors that create a cut off that is opposite and can blind oncoming drivers unless you correct this its all in threads.

Did your projectors come with the H1 pigtails? You should be able to go to a local auto parts store and pick up the 9006 harness. As long as the 9006 harness has a female end, you'll be good to go.

no the lights just came with a bulb in them, no wires. nothing else.
im pretty sure i understand what to do, if my information is rite (male= part from the car itself female=what plugs into the car, ie. the bulb)

get a 9006 female harness
get a h1 male harness.

wire the opposite ends of the 9006 & h1 so that its a 9006 female to h1 male adapter
plug the 9006 female to the car and the end ( h1 male) to the h1 bulb

does that sound rite?

Exactly. My projectors came with the H1 male plug but I'm having trouble finding the 9006 female plug. I might have to buy the one from EBay that you just linked.
