oil question Options

So I feel my car is burning oil a bit too quickly, is there anything I can do to stop this? I use Mobil1 10W-30 and now with Purpolator pure1 oil filter and I've put a little extra oil in there (how much should a 7afe take anyway?) Should I up the oil to a thicker grade? Also the mornings are getting colder and winter is coming so should I just stick with 10W-30?

in my opinion fully synthetic oil is best and mobil1 is among the best. you possibly need an engine flush.

sorry what u mean by burning oil? u need to top up frequently? if thats the case then u have to check if your exhaust is releasing much more white smoke. if yes, then may be the rings are worn.

my 7A would 'burn' oil where I had to fill the oil twice a week... there was never any sign of oil on the ground. turns out I had worn rings, and a massive rear main seal leak. sounds like its coming up to rebuild time. how many Miles?

I have to put 1qt of oil every thousand or so miles. and I would do a rebuild but I only plan to have the car for another year or two then I'll be getting a newer car...then i'll prob do the rebuild when I dont need to rely on it as much lol

Mine leaked a lil oil and I would have to put some oil in it like every couple weeks. But then I switched to full synthetic and it only does it when its ready for an oil change(like 4k miles later). When I pulled my engine my rear main was old and terrible so probably just drop engine and tranny and redo the rear main seal. And see if that helps?
