Ok, coomer, john, tim and pete I know this is for engine/performance but its not really in production yet and more people look in this forum than e/p.

And I am just gaining interest or w/e. move it if you want i just think it will catch more people's eyes if its in gen disc.

Ok well now on to the topic at hand.

I have been contemplating making 20-30 cold air intakes for the GT celicas. It will pretty much the same path that your current intake goes but with a smaller filter (cone style) with more flow.

if you take out your current filter and look where the air comes from its a good path but the way everything is set up is pretty restrictive. there will be a spot to hook up the airflow sensor as well

not sure about what material that I want to use yet because I want to see how many people are interested first.

i might just get some old civic short rams and weld those together.

either way it will be as clean as the ones evilspeedtoe makes for the st's.

his website is click here.

it wont go the same path as his but farther off to the left or right depending on how you look at it.

just post if you would be interested.

any additional questions PM me I get a lot of pms so make sure that title is CAI or something like that.

my aol screenname is igotta5SFEturbo

thanks

oh sorry about that forgot the cost

i am estimating like 125-150 bucks or so including shipping from Iowa. I'm in the center so it will be the same for about everyone.

Sounds good. Sounds like mine. Mine is a modified Civic intake. Works/sounds great. I suggest people jump on this.

I suggest you come up with some specifics before you get people's hopes up. From what I understand the reason Speedtoe didn't make a GT CAI is because the cruise control module is in the way for most GT's; therefore it would cost way too much to either a) relocate it or b) bend the pipe around it. I'm not being mean, just realistic, so don't even try to pull that on me.

edit: Also going via the original path on the right-side of the battery could be very restrictive and not yield good gains. while the path doesn't get as hot as next to the engine, the hole there is quite small. maybe only a 2" pipe would fit in there.

How are you making sure the CAI will fit? I thought the 6GC that is owned by your girlfriend has the 3S-GTE engine in the place of the 5S-FE. Since the 3S-GTE engine is in its place, the placement of the CAI/air filter would probably be considerably different than the 5S-FE. This means you would have to have a donor car in order to do this. Am I correct?

Whoa... a working CAI for the GT? I like the sound of that... Did I miss it, or did they just decide they couldn't do it?
