what do you mean the car shakes? is this your tires or alignment causing this, is your steering wheel going crazy? or is it really an engine problem?

Your car is an ST, isn't it? That's why it won't go over 80 laugh.gif

Does the car shake any other time? It's more than likely just your tires not being balanced. As for the car not going over 80, does it just run out of power, does it run out of gear, what is it doing? Auto or manual? Start with a basic tuneup and see where that gets you.

Sounds like you need a tune up. Probably bad plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

i really want to start making this car faster. im wonderingg if i should just get a swap (but which swap ?) or just start doing basic performance parts such as intake and exhaust

I have a 95 ST with 170k now. I have the same problem, only mine starts around 60+ or 70+ mph depending how hot it is weirdly. Its had the problem since I bought it, with no loss of power either. It has actually been getting up to those trembling speeds really nicely lately.

I have a pretty sick oil leak coming from the distributor. I haven't gotten around to replacing it, but Im assuming that once that is replaced and tuned I might be able to make past 80mph without thinking the car is going to explode. Update if you get the tune up soon please.
