Ive heard about people changing to an advanced timing and that it helps a little bit. It seems there no cons to it so im thinking of doing it.
Has anyone done this? how hard was it to do? pros/cons?

Also do you have to run higher fuel?

I know the NA (1st gen) Miata crowd bumps their timing from 10* to 14* BTDC. Not sure if the same can be done for a 7A, but it'd be interesting to see if it yields any usable results.

yes you can move it up quite a bit. just run 91 or better gas. its really impressive how good the 7A-FE responds to it

What would you recommend? I should technically be changing my timing belt around 100k anyway, and I'm at 96,6xx. As far as I know, drops gas mileage by a few points but pretty much creates a bit more power and "pep" across the rev range?

I'm pretty sure he means to turn the dizzy toward the firewall..... but a timing light used to check it will tell you for sure..... make a change, Check it. Reset your bridges up... check it. etc.... a quick google search on how to do it exactly with a 7a may prove to find something different on the jumper pins in the diag port.
