I dont know if im the only one whit this problem...
I want to change my 94 radio for a new one...BUT! My 2 DIN radio....casette on top and CD under, have a single wiring harness! I check on other topic to find the wiring diagram for this ''mysterious'' radio...I dont think it will fit..

I have a Toyota 11708 from Fujitsu Ten and a Toyota CD Deck 34210 by Fujitsu Ten

the question is....Where I can find the good wiring diagram and will it work???

Thanks

The harness in the vehicle didn't ever change with whatever deck came standard.....it should plug in to any toyota deck from 87+ AFAIK. This also means that any harness kit you buy for 1987+ toyota will plug in....unless you have a factory amp

edit: my book is from 2002, so when I say 1987+ I mean up until 2002, not sure toyota changed it since

This is true but I have to ask you one question:
Are you trying the harness out of the back of the Radio or the harness at the factory amp on those DD systems?
The reason I ask - Alot of people don't know we have a factory amp in the better stock systems and make this mistake. I know the dip$hit who bought my car originally [or more likely his audio installer] didn't kindasad.gif You should see the wiring mess that was there till I rebuilt this car.
Try that first. It's the harness going into the stock amp from the dash harness - not the other end of the one that goes into your HU
Hope this helps

I have the same problem. The only harness in the HU go to the amp. It's a close space. From what I have read there is suppose to have the two harness on the amp to plug the aftermarker HU. I have to look for those to by-pass stock amp.

I have foud another harness near the climtate controle unit. Is not plug to anything. I don't know what he does???

the extra plug near the climate control attached to the same harness as the cigarette lighter plug are for rear quarter window and ragtop switches for convertibles only. it is not meant to plug into anything.

these are the plugs for radio after i disconnected them from the amp harness. They sell a kit to use those plugs and its self explanatory....

yes i made my own harness, but you can buy the kit. for aftermarket you don't need the amp.

You can use it, but im not even going in there on how to make you own custom harness,

i take it back, my thread was removed from the stickies...

Nice write up man, I disagree with what the one guy said about Kenwood touch screens, I've had my pioneer for 4 years still works like its brand new. Anyways you can buy a kit its like 20 bucks and they sell it at wal mart, along with the connector. They sell it at Best Buy ( Public price no employee discount ) for like 35 or so. Depends on the deck you get/want the price varies.

it looks like you want to use the stock amplifer(s). instead of figuring out which wire is which and destroying your factory harness, you can use an amp integration harness that JuMPiiN is referring to: Metra 70-8112 Amp Integration Harness.

If you have the harness, yes.

From OEM to aftermarket, no where close.

Dealerships hardly ever carry adapters like that. They would rather have you order a replacement stereo through them for $900 or so. Just go to Wal-mart or somewhere like that and pick up an adapter, they still make 'em.

the orange wire goes to the dimmer switch near the steering column iirc. not 100% sure though. but that orange wire is just there as an option for dimming.. you don't have to use it.

ok thanks.
still can't get this to work though. now when i test each wire in the new harness with a multimeter, the red one shows 14.3V, the rest are 0. Shouldn't the yellow one read 14V as well?
I have tried replacing the fuse on the head unit's harness, that did not work.

Check your fuses in the engine bay. Heres the wiring colors.

Okay, I got the head unit to turn on by connecting both the red and yellow wires from the head unit harness to the red wire of the Metra harness. However, no sound comes from the speakers. All the fuses under the hood seem good (well i didn't check the big square ones). There are 3 fuses in the interior that had no voltage, those were PANEL, TAIL and S T. Not sure what these mean or if they have anything to do with the head unit.
