I noticed it on Wednesday, but haven't gotten around to asking until now. So I used my car on Monday and the rear bumper was just fine. When I parked it after I got back, it was fine as well. I know, because as I'm walking away from my car I usually look back and admire it (as I'm sure most of us do laugh.gif ) and there was nothing there. Then Wednesday comes and I go out to use my car again, and what do I see on my rear bumper?

THIS!

Out of no where! It looks like some sort of weird oxidization to me, what do you guys think?

It couldn't have been any natural liquid from above because I park my car in a parking structure, so it's always dry.

I take it trying to wipe/wash it off did not succeed? It's somewhat hard to tell from the photo whether the bubbly section is on the paint, or etched into it.

Bird sh!t?
I know that stuff can be really bad for you're paint if you don't remove it fast enough.

I highly doubt it, this stain appeared in less than two days. Bird sh!t takes longer than that. Unless this bird had a really acidic sh!t... laugh.gif

I have not tried to wipe it off with water and a cloth, but I ran my fingers over it and used my nail ever so slightly, just to judge the ridges. It kind of feels like it's in the paint, but I'd have to go check again to be certain.

If it's that, it just puzzles me as to how quickly it appeared. I assure you, there was absolutely nothing there Monday evening. Then I noticed this early Wednesday afternoon.

It does look like spit.
I thought that at first but assumed it would have been able to get wiped off easily.

There is no way that is spit unless a camel happened to be walking near your car.

Its something, I would say someone poured a drink or something.

I've spit out the window plenty on my black car it never looked like that when it got caught on the back. Comes right out too if its spit.

If it's spit, it should just come off with a bit of soap and water, yeah?

Yeah, it's really big for spit. The picture doesn't put it in an easy scale, but it was slightly smaller than my iPhone in size.
