Basically i have an at200 celica, and im looking to swap. i dont want to go through the process of swapping the 3sge. So the 4age is the right option for me.
What im asking is; is the blacktop worth it? or should i got with the 4agze? what i mean is, how would they drive in a heavy 6g?
any videos with a 4age celica would be great if u know of any,
thanks

4agze is going to cost roughly the same as the 3sgte swap.

4age is is not going to be much of a improvment from the 7afe. From past readings, Coomer I believe the site owner, swapped a 4age silvertop in his. Dyno came out to about 125-145 if I remember correctly. Its quite the small upgrade for the work required. Looks good in the bay, and thats about it.

BEAMS would be the easiest swap. even in an ST if it comes with the same trans your car does(auto.manual) though idk why most ppl would swap in an auto beams (i would cause auto beams DD would be pretty nice in MPG and be quick... my v6 is the FAST one smile.gif)

From what I've read from a few 4A swappers, no, it isn't worth it. Some say it's a minor improvement, others swear its actually a downgrade from the 7A, saying it simply doesn't have the torque to haul a Celica around. They all agree that swapping to an S block motor would have been smarter.

Just go with the 3s swap, it is not difficult... My car was an st, it now has a 3rd gen 3s with an e153 LSD trans... well worth the money, but expect to at least spend 5 grand

ya man what he said. 3S swap or nothing! 4age is a good engine if on a lightweight chassis (your at200 chassis is a little above 2400 pounds. It'd be a good swap on early 90's corolla or the 88-90 corolla gts corolla. Virtually no torque coming from the 4age. either 3S-GE beams or 3S-GTE. with a 3sgte you'll have to buy a separate e153 or s54 transmission. Most s54 transmission don't come with a lsd (but are bit lighter)

Sort of depends if you want to do a build, or put a motor in and be done with it. Time, money & knowledge are influencing factors aswell

Thinking a 7A-GE/GZE/GTE
