If I remember correctly, there was some concern about the GT4 hood being so light, that they might be to strong for it. I don't know what was ever found about it.

From the ebay sale "Note: This Hood Shock that they do not work with Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass Hoods.
However in the link below, Yellowchinaman uses it on his cf hood, but just installed 1 side not both.

Also: these are pretty cool, gonna grab a set while I'm at it.

I've got a question. I know there's people who shut their hoods different ways, some people place into the cradle and press down, some people drop. I'm a dropper. My dad was a dropper, so I guess it's just habit (I only drop from about 3" max, it's not like I slam the hood).

But anyway, my question: With the dampers installed, I figure that it becomes impossible to drop the hood from that little distance, correct? I'd have to press it into place?

nop, you can still drop it.

That's what I always do to my ST205 hood, but from higher, a lot higher lol.

depends the hood stock hood will work. im an on and off dropper depends on my mood towards the car i guess. but with GT4 hood you can drop but it will not latch properly gonna have to push it down afterward the hood is too light. i have both sides installed might take out one side and see how it works though.

I'm a dropper with a GT4 hood, installed both sides.

I've had these for 1.5 year and no issues.
Don't think too much about it. They're great for $50 bucks.
They have other colors too if you want the white CF or the black CF instead just a plain black strut.

I would recommend it.

IDK, bought those same ones and I could not get them on til now, the bracket on the hood side seems to always pivot or move around, can't hold steady. damages the paint and the position of the shock hits the fender. Someone else have this problem?

not really if you just take out one screw and loosen the other one and have it held with the prop rod you should be able to push the lol bracket in towards center of hood and tighten the 1 screw you took out. also the brackets i believe there side specific i put them on backwards the first time and think i had a similar problem to yours.

you have the bracket on the hood the wrong way, it mounts on the other side, is hard to explain without a picture, but I had it like that for like 5 minutes, then realized it was wrong and flipped it, no issues.
