Yup I want your relatively clean hood blanket. Folks chucked the original one when the hood was replaced.

I had one in one of my Celicas, originally purchased in the middle of Illinois, made its way down to the southern tip. Either way, neither a super hot nor super cold climate. I think these cars are just aging and the insulation has fallen off of most of them.

it's mainly to just put out a fire if your engine catches on fire (from what i've heard). it shouldn't do anything to the paint if you take it off

hmm interesting.. lol then i guess that i am the odd ball here. wink.gif

hmmm fire protection? kinda makes sence. since there does not seem to be any other reason why you would WANT to actually keep the heat in the bay... and since the hood is made of metal there is no reason to "protect" it from heat like you would with a CF hood (high heat increases rate of yellowing)

RobbMeeX if there is anything els that you are looking for, let me know, i should be done with my car and on my way down to Mobile in about a month. and as long as i have room in the car i will not mind bringing down w/e you may need and meeting up with you once i get back in town. smile.gif perhaps at the Bruno's on university?
And for reference the parts car i have is a 96 ST..
