I need a new driver side airbag, and while searching for one, have found a 7th gen celica stearing wheel with the airbag in it. If I slap the 7th gen wheel on, would the bag still work? btw, if anyone has some airbags, please chime in

I believe you would have to wire the airbag from the 7th into the wiring from the 6th. Other people have done it, so it can be done.

hey,
98 and 99 celica use same wheel as 7th gen and plug in is same as well.. i see you have a 94 which has same plug in as mr2 and a buddy of mine just installed a 99 JDM (98-99 US celica) mr2 wheel and airbag to his 91 mr2 and it worked after he swap the connector on bag to 91 style .. only issue is we suspect the ecu might not be set up right to fire newer bag but i guess you won't know until you have a wreck but let's hope you never find out .. the ecu is show no codes which is great.. Btw I can't stess enough it is super dangerous to be messing with airbag wires so if you do swap try to swap by pulling pins and installing into new connector but if you must cut you must be 100% compatant that your soldering job is secure and wrapped with heat shrink for good measure .. also make sure battery is unhooked or better yet out of car before even messing with bags.. |

Hate to bust your bubble WRC, but the 98-99 wheels are different than teh 7th gens. Granted that they look alot alike they are different.
