I own a 97 convertible limited edition, i just got all the problems fixed since I was jewed by the guy who sold it to me. Long story short I took him to court and won the case so I have about 1300 dollars to mess around with and I figured the car just hit 100,000 miles that I could make a change or two to improve performance. I am in no way trying to make a street car or anything, just trying to add more kick to the car or anything that could benefit it. Other than that I am also going to have to replace the convertible top. It is tan (why tan?), its torn, it looks like a massive stain from 1976, and it leaks through the rear window even with the slightest precipitation. Any places (Ohio) or brands I should know of to start my search? Finally I have to put some audio in this car, it has NOTHING! (no head unit, speakers, subs). Good brands? Also if going to a shop and paying for equipment/labor is the right route or if I should buy my own system then find somebody willing to install. Not looking for a top of the line or cheap system but a mid range one. Any help is appreciated. That's my novel.

I don't think the ST's were ever offered as a 'vert.

Seeing as to how you have a convertible, the first thing I would do is replace the top. Second, do big maintenance- water pump, oil pump, timing belt, dizzy, plugs, wires, etc. What's the point in modding your car if it breaks down on the side of the road? Third, audio system. Gotta hear the music with the top down!

Good luck with whatever direction you take the car, and post some pictures!

I hate being jewed too.
Me and my colored friend were talking last week how we hate getting jewed, especially by the japs and chinks.

lol, yeah I will definitely get everything looked at then fixed before I do anything. The audio can honestly wait, I care more about making the car last and being a good investment than blasting metal.

I can definitely relate when it came to replacing this that and the third, the sad part is when the guy found out I was in the USMC THEN he was sorry. I am definitely going to look at that thread though, that is definitely perseverance at it's finest. Thanks for the link!

If I made money like that then I would have to become knowledgeable and take time to learn about cars in general. I pretty much know nothing about cars which is why when this car is done ill probably never let go of it. It is my third car and in the 7 months I have had it its the longest to last ever. I would go to that I am in Columbus, however I am a broke black man lol.

The good thing is I haven't seen any of my car in Columbus, not to say they aren't around though. biggrin.gif
