Definitely don't leave the axle nut loose. Within a matter of miles, you'll need a new bearing. Ask me how I know

I weigh 250 an i had to stand on my 2foot breaker bar with a 2 foot cheater bar on the end to get it to break back loose

Im picking up a new axle tomorrow an finishing hooking up my oil pressure gauge an probably running alittle bit of seafoam through the oiling system for about 40 mile an hopefully clean out some sludge im sure that has built up in it over the years
