The S54, while shorter geared, is much more fun to drive than with a E153.
If you could find a 5sp Solara you can grab it's trans and mount. Not sure if the mount would then need further modification to fit the Celica axles or not. If you wanted to swap though you would need to get a new clutch disk, as yours is splined for the S54. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

i dont think the axle mount sees much torque.
i would imagine bumps and what not would put more stress on that mount than anything. if you welded the mount yourself, i would do it again, but instead of doing full welds, just tack it in place and take it to a welding shop. putting pretty beads down is easy, making solid welds is HARD. i thought plenty of mine were great, till they peeled apart. If you had an e153 you could use the stock mount that came with the engine i used mine and only cut off half of it... the mount was both an engine mount AND axle mount. -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated. Perhaps it was welded on out of alignment which caused extra stress?
